Leila is a public health practitioner who received a Master of Public Health degree from George Washington University (GWU) in 2023. In 2021, she received a B.S. in Community Health degree from George Mason University. Leila is a member of the Delta Omega Gamma Tau Honor Society and has received Awards for Academic Excellence in both her undergraduate and graduate studies.

As a long-time DMV resident, Leila is passionate about addressing health inequalities faced by marginalized communities in the District. She is eager to work with Zane Networks to address and promote Health IT challenges facing the healthcare system because she knows that technological advances are essential in increasing quality of care and population health. Leila is also passionate about developing her User Experience (UX) skills to improve the usability of Health IT services, such as electronic health record systems.

Before joining Zane Networks, Leila gained experience in the not-for-profit sector by working with an environmental justice organization. She provided technical, scientific, and communications support for communities all over the U.S. facing environmental disasters. Leila has also volunteered with the Urban Health Program, in partnership with the Latin American Youth Center, to implement interventions for unhoused/housing-insecure youth in Washington, D.C.

Leila’s hobbies include cooking, baking, going on long walks with her dogs, bullet journaling, and reading.
